Southern Security Donates $5,000 to Keesha Warrior Princess

Southern Security Federal Credit Union’s donation is part of a community partnership with Keesha Warrior Princess to help spread awareness on breast cancer and early detection.

MEMPHIS, Tenn., March 27, 2023 – Southern Security, a not-for-profit financial cooperative whose mission is to help its members financially, donated $5,000 to Keesha Warrior Princess as part of a community partnership to help increase early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer in women aged 25-45 through education and community.

We feel honored to be able to support Keesha Warrior Princess in continuing to educate and support breast cancer awareness,” said Dawn Graeter, President and CEO of Southern Security.  This cause was very personal to us; Breast cancer affects so many people in our organization and community.

Keesha Warrior Princess is a local nonprofit named after Keesha Furniss. Keesha was diagnosed with stage-4 metastatic breast cancer at age 30 and battled the disease for four years until it took her life in November 2017. After diagnosis she realized she missed many of the critical signs of the disease and asked her story to be shared with the world – to help save other young women from the pain, suffering, and potential death associated with this horrible disease.

Self-Check Reminder Cards are one of the leading educational tools used by Keesha Warrior Princess. To sign up and receive a free Self-Check reminder card, visit https://warriorprincess.org.
