Southern Security Hosts Red Carpet Premiere Event for “Opportunity Knocks” Season 3

Southern Security Credit Union hosted community leaders, partners, and invited guests on June 1 for a red carpet premiere event celebrating the launch of Season 3 of the PBS series “Opportunity Knocks” at Malco Collierville Towne Cinema Grill & MXT.

Among the families featured this season in the PBS series “Opportunity Knocks” is Kristina, a Memphis single mother working to rebuild stability for her family after experiencing deep personal loss.

This season of “Opportunity Knocks” follows families from across the country as they work to overcome financial and personal challenges with guidance from nationally recognized financial coaches and community resources. Kristina’s story highlights her efforts toward career advancement, financial stability, and emotional healing while navigating the realities many working families face every day.

“Kristina’s story reflects the strength and determination we see every day across our communities,” said Dawn Graeter, CEO of Southern Security Credit Union. “We were honored to support this opportunity and help shine a light on a story that many families can relate to.”

The premiere event included red carpet arrivals, welcome remarks, photo opportunities, and a reception attended by Southern Security leadership, community partners, and supporters connected to the project. Representatives from “Opportunity Knocks” and the Tennessee and Mississippi Credit Union Association also participated in the evening’s program.

Unlike traditional reality television centered on competition or conflict, “Opportunity Knocks” focuses on real-life transformation, financial empowerment, and connecting families with meaningful resources and support.

The series was named “Best Feel Good Show” at the American Reality Television Awards, surpassing nationally recognized programs including “Shark Tank” and ABC’s “The Great Christmas Light Fight.” The show has also received more than 33 awards recognizing excellence in television, social impact, and education.

“Opportunity Knocks” airs in the Memphis market on WKNO HDTV on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. and on WKNODT2 on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 3:30 p.m.

Season 3 premiered nationally June 1 on PBS and the WORLD Channel. Episodes are also available through PBS Passport, PBS.org, YouTube @oppknockstv, and OpportunityKnocks.net.
