MEMPHIS, Tenn., February 23, 2024 – Southern Security’s members gave back in a big way through a recent fundraiser for Keesha Warrior Princess held at Southern Security Credit Union locations. Throughout the month of October, Southern Security members donated $6,300 to Keesha Warrior Princess as part of a community partnership to help increase early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer in women aged 25-45 through education and community.

“We are humbled, proud, and thankful to have generous members who join us in giving back to our community and supporting Keesha Warrior Princess in continuing to educate and support breast cancer awareness,” said Dawn Graeter, President and CEO of Southern Security. “This cause is very personal to us; breast cancer affects so many people in our organization and community.”

Keesha Warrior Princess is a local nonprofit named after Keesha Furniss. Keesha was diagnosed with stage-4 metastatic breast cancer at age 30 and battled the disease for four years until it took her life in November 2017. After diagnosis, she realized she missed many of the critical signs of the disease and asked her story to be shared with the world – to help save other young women from the pain, suffering, and potential death associated with this horrible disease.
